Scheduled hours: Days (Rotating holidays and weekends)
Job Description:
Responsible for the collection and processing of laboratory specimens. May be trained to assist in Bone Marrow collections as well as provide phlebotomy services at off-site facilities such as nursing homes. Must demonstrate absolute accuracy in inpatient identification, specimen labeling and have knowledge of test requirements as well as other duties related to department specific needs. Requires the ability to professionally portray the Laboratory’s image to patients by demonstrating pleasant and courteous mannerisms at all times.
Qualifications:
Required:
Computer classes / experience
High school diploma or GED
On the job training provided
Preferred:
Medical Assistant (CMA) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
Phlebotomy certificate
Medical terminology
Clinical experience in a hospital setting
