Position Purpose:

Cleans and disinfects the patient care areas and public areas of MercyOne in accordance with cleanliness standards.

What you will Do:

  • Performs patient/resident room cleaning to ensure clean and sanitary environment.

  • Performs cleaning in administrative and support areas.

  • Keeps equipment, cart, and closet clean, orderly & operational.

  • Performs special functions and requirements to ensure work area is maintained in a neat and orderly manner and available for use.

  • Demonstrates proper floor cleaning procedures and proper equipment care.

  • Contributes to the overall safety, security, and efficiency of the department.

Hours/Schedule:

1.0 FTE; 80 hours per pay period; will include a weekend and holiday rotation; typical 1st shift hours are 7:00am-3:30pm but can vary.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires the ability to read, write and understand the English language, and communicate effectively with patients, visitors, staff, and physicians while performing their job duties.

  • Mandatory Reporter. If driving, need valid Iowa driver’s license and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)

  • Ability to work with a large degree of independence.

  • Must display professional image.

  • Ability to be sensitive to customer needs.

  • Basic computer skills.
