[**[Job Summary of the Environmental Health Safety Specialist[:[The Environmental, Health, Safety Specialist position will be responsible for assisting the Corporate EPA and Safety Coordinator in monitoring and maintaining all programs, processes and procedures as they relate to the safety, health, industrial hygiene, and housekeeping for the Iowa facility. Those duties and responsibilities would include, but not be limited to, initiating, administering, monitoring and continuously improving upon established safety, ergonomic and health programs; ensuring that employees, supervisors, and managers are aware of, and comply with, all federal, state and local guidelines, procedures and protocols relating to the safe and effective operations of equipment, machinery and tools used in the fabrication, manufacture, coating and assembly of products produced in the Iowa Facility. In addition, those safety, health, and housekeeping issues this individual will also be accountable for coordinating, administrating, and monitoring environment, fire safety, and security protocols necessary to comply with applicable federal, state, and local regulatory agencies.

Assist with continually refining all plant safety programs, processes, policies, and procedures, including, safety committee, EMT / First Response assignments and training, CPR certification, Tornado and Fire Training, Blood Borne Pathogen Training, posting of required plant safety, security and signs etc.

Ensure regulatory compliance with all governmental agencies including, but not limited to federal and state OSHA and NIOSH and/or other enforcement agencies and notices as required under federal, state and local laws.

Coordinate the periodic monitoring and testing of various work environment issues such as noise levels, air quality, respirator testing, hearing test, required physical examinations, compliance with Blood Borne Pathogen Stds., maintenance and updating of all MSDS / Employee Right To Know logs and training.

Conduct thorough investigations of workplace accidents, incidents, and near misses.

Compile detailed reports outlining root causes and recommending corrective actions.

Collaborate with the safety team to perform regular safety audits of manufacturing areas.

Identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations and protocols.

Conduct routine safety walks throughout the manufacturing facility to observe and address safety concerns.
