A Brief Overview
Accountable for assisting with the preparation of Medicare, Medicaid, and Tricare cost reports for Avera hospitals, rural health clinics and nursing homes. The Analyst assists with net revenue analysis, including the calculation and reconciliation of contractual allowances and uncompensated care reserves for all Avera Health hospitals, clinics and nursing homes where the AR data is uploaded into the Crowe Revenue Cycle Analytics software (RCA). Assist with the preparation of Medicare and Medicaid 3rd Party Settlement Reserves analysis for all Avera Health PPS and CAH Hospitals, RHCs and nursing homes. Assists with ad hoc analysis and similar projects for the Avera Network.
What you will do
Prepare and provide analysis of the Avera Health Medicare, Medicaid and Tricare hospital, RHC and nursing home annual cost reports and audits.
Assists with the Medicare and Medicaid audits for the Avera Health.
Assemble Medicare and Medicaid 3rd Party Settlement Reserves analysis for all Avera Health PPS and CAH Hospitals, RHCs and nursing homes.
Assists with the monthly contractual reserve calculation for all Avera Health Hospitals, clinics, and nursing homes within RCA, and the AR reserve calculation for all other Avera Health operating units not included in RCA.
Assist with the completion of the annual net revenue budget calculation for all Avera Health Hospitals, clinics, and nursing homes within RCA, and the budget calculation for all other Avera Health operating units not included in RCA.
Assist in the monitoring and interpreting state and federal regulatory publications and announcements, providing notification and reimbursement impact analysis for Avera Health facilities.
Assists with annual wage index audits for Avera Health.
Responsible for the daily reconciling the data uploads into RCA and the liaison for reconciling the contractual allowances per the general ledger.

Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:
- Bachelor's in Accounting, Business or related field
Preferred Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:
- 1-3 years Experience of working in the healthcare environment with regulatory and cost reporting experience. Knowledge of clinic reimbursement rules and practices.
