Join the MercyOne Family! We are looking to hire a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).

As an LPN at MercyOne, you will assists in carrying out the phases of the nursing process as appropriately delegated by the Registered Nurse. Performs activities and functions of patient care within the legal scope of practice of the Licensed Practical Nurse, State of Iowa, and in accordance with MercyOne Siouxland Medical Center policy and procedure. Adheres to the principles of the Code of Conduct and the mission of MercyOne in all aspects of job performance.

Schedule:

Self Scheduling, weekend and holiday rotation

General Requirements:

  • Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the Trinity Health Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions.

  • Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide service/care appropriate to the age of the patients served, in accordance with Mercy standards.

  • Utilizing the nursing process, assists the registered nurse in providing patient care from a holistic approach, specific to the age of the patient population identified within the department/unit scope of service, and in accordance with the department/unit standards.

  • Demonstrates ability to anticipate/identify physical, psycho­logical, social and spiritual needs of the patient and appropriately reports to the Registered Nurse.

  • Communicates and collaborates effectively with registered nurses, certified nursing assistants and other multi-disci­plinary team members, as well as patient, families and significant others.

  • Implements and documents appropriate teaching needs to pa­tient/ family/significant others as delegated by the registered nurse.

  • Prioritizes and implements appropriate interventions and treatments as delegated by the registered nurse, utilizing the formulated plan of care.

Education:

  • Requires current Iowa LPN license.
