Job Title: Scientific Writer

Location: Johnston, IA

Pay Range: $ 43-46/hr

What’s the Job?

• Craft compelling scientific publications and patent applications based on complex research findings.

• Collaborate with scientists to gather information, synthesize technical data, and translate it into clear, concise reports.

• Tailor communication styles to diverse audiences, including scientists, patent attorneys, and the general public.

• Manage a portfolio of writing projects, ensuring timely delivery and meeting high-quality standards.

What’s Needed?

• Master's or Ph.D. in Biology or Agriculture, with a strong foundation in plant breeding and seed product development (experience in data science a plus).

• Proven track record of writing scientific reports and manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals.

• Excellent research and information gathering skills, with the ability to synthesize complex material.

• Experience tailoring communication styles for various audiences, including the public, media, and agricultural professionals.

• Proven project management skills to juggle multiple writing projects and meet deadlines efficiently.
