Seeking a diligent Lab Technician to join our dynamic team, focusing on microbiology and molecular biology. Responsibilities include working with various bacteria, fungi, plant pathogens, wheat, and yeast. You will employ sterile and aseptic techniques, culture and run assays utilizing ELISA or PCR, perform DNA/RNA extractions, utilize microscopy for identifying pathogens, and adhere to SOPs while interpreting assay results.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Johnston, Iowa.

Work Environment

The position includes in-person training and requires handling bacteria and fungi, not suitable for those with strong allergies. Must be capable of lifting up to 40 pounds. This is a long-term, open-ended contract evaluated annually for extension, with a busy season from May to November. Standard work hours are Monday through Friday from 8AM to 5PM. The role is crucial for team growth and training, aiming for rapid hiring to facilitate focused training sessions.
