Activity Coordinator - Full-Time

Summary
Under the direction of the Administrator:
Plans, develops, and implements a meaningful and comprehensive activity program that corresponds to the needs and interests of each resident, including but not limited to: assessing individual resident hobbies/interests and accommodations needed to continue to pursue accordingly
Assists residents to set measurable goals for involvement within their plan of care, evaluating each resident's progress and response over time, and regularly revising and adapting the program's scheduled offerings as the interests, needs, and abilities of current residents change
Must be able to stimulate the interest of elderly and disabled residents in activity therapy with both enthusiasm and compassion
Must establish and maintain effective relationships with all team members, the public (including volunteers), the media, and residents' interested parties
Qualifications / Requirements
Within six (6) months of employment, complete a recreation coordinator orientation course approved by the Iowa Department of Inspections and Appeals (DIA), or have a bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation, or have DIA-approved experience, education, and/or training
Must have outstanding customer service and organization skills
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills specific to the English language
Must be resourceful and self-directed, with the ability to perform duties / responsibilities with limited oversight / supervision
Must be able to work a varied schedule, including evenings and weekends
Per the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), COVID-19 vaccination is required, with exceptions for medical and religious accommodations when reasonable

Job Type: Full-Time
Shift: Day Shift, Flexible Scheduling
Wage Range*: $17.50/hr-$19.00/hr, Negotiable (DOE)
Years of Experience Incentive Pay: $0.15/per year, up to ten (10) years
