MLB Tax & Accounting Accountant in Decorah, Iowa
We are looking for a full-time or part-time, detail-oriented individual to join our team. The applicant would be working with clients on general bookkeeping, reconciliations, payroll, and sales tax reporting. Experience or interest in tax preparation preferred. Applicants must be organized, dependable, flexible, able to multitask, and possess excellent communication skills. Hours will vary with workload deadlines. Additional Skills and Qualifications:
- 2-4 years' experience with handling payroll for multiple companies.
- 2-4 years previous payroll processing experience including making payroll tax deposits and filing returns (941, 940, W/H and UI)
- Computer-literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
- QuickBooks and Lacerte experience a plus, but not required.
How you will make an impact
- Extra unique tasks if required.
- Arrange monthly reconciliations, financial statements and all supporting documents.
- Supply cash flow projections, as needed.
- Organize sales tax records and create and file quarterly payments.
- Significant accounting experience, including as a bookkeeper preferred.
- 2+ years of related experience - Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills (verbal, written, and listening).
- Create Reports, experience desired.
- Annual Financial Reporting, experience required.
- Deep understanding of Monthly Financial Statements. Ready subcontractor 1099's, and any other IRS year-end requirements.
- Demonstrateanalytical abilities, tendency to quickly connect dots and surmise logical outcomes.
- High attention to detail and possesses excellent organizational and writing skills.
- Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities.
