We are seeking a Project Engineer to join the exciting development of next-generation Computing Products in Cedar Rapids, IA. We are focused on applying this solution across various Avionics products in safety-critical commercial and military applications .

We are looking for a strong leader with an action-oriented mindset who can evaluate individual and project performance while anticipating changes. This role will involve a high level of collaboration to build and enhance development teams while operating with integrity . The ability to assemble a high-fidelity bid is also critical to this role, with the established skill/discipline of capturing high-quality scope & ROADS in written form .

This position may be eligible for relocation.

What YOU will do:

• Serves as the engineering project leader for programs developing Avionics products, including coordinating hardware, software, and firmware scope to meet program commitments .

• Serves as engineering project leader, supplying project management and technical direction during all program phases, including pursuit, bidding, planning, execution, and sustainment .

• Ensures consistency with Collins Aerospace technical consistent engineering processes .

• Ensures compliance with program and product requirements as reflected in design plans .

• Leads a wide range of entry-level to highly experienced engineers .

• Demonstrates technical ability to process platforms and the associated technologies .

• Maintains awareness of key technologies and the company's competitive position

• Supports the development and transition of products into a manufacturing environment

  Education & Experience:

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience.

• Demonstrated systems and/or software engineering experience on complex avionics programs.

  Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiar with standard systems and software development practices (V Model).

• Experience with military and commercial systems/software certification ( e.g. DO- 178, DO -297, etc.).

• 5 years of leading engineering teams, preferably small engineering teams (5-10 engineers), and experience as a Control Account Manager (CAM)

The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
