Global Trade (GT) requirements exist to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations pertaining to economic sanctions and the export and import of products, services and technical data.

The Avionics Associate Director of Digital Technology is primarily responsible for leading the Global Trade Digital Technology program. This will include evaluation of current and future Information Systems to ensure they meet the minimum GT requirements, developing tools and programs to automate and make more efficient the GT transactional activities. Developing automated reports and management of the Avionics GT DT applications. In this role you will partner with the DT team, the GT leaders at both the Avionics and Collins levels. You will represent Avionics and advocate for solutions that work for Avionics as a business. Out of the box thinking and creative problem solving are a must in this role. This position will drive the right process forward. Working with the Director and other Avionics GT leaders, this position works to set the direction of the business under the Collins DT umbrella.

As an Associate Director in GT, you will be responsible for the Global Trade Assessments required before software is approved to have access to the RTX systems. Working with the GT team to drive direction and solve DT issues while supporting the corporate DT efforts. This role will be the responsible coordinator for the SAP/GTS upgrade and implementation. Project management and collaboration will be key to this role. This role will partner with other GT leaders in areas of Value Stream Management, Authorizations and Digital Technology as well as the business to further our program and meet the business needs. This role will serve as a subject matter expert in Global Trade and must be familiar with both exports and imports. The position requires both a high-level understanding of the products and knowledge of the regulations surrounding their classification, export and import, including U.S and Non-U.S. (EMEA) regulations as they may apply.

This role will be hybrid, the preferred candidate will be available to work at one of our Collins Aerospace - Avionics locations in Cedar Rapids, IA, Melbourne, FL or Wilsonville, OR.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead the Avionics DT program, drives strategic planning efforts and leads multiple programs/projects ensuring adherence to scope, schedules and budgets

  • Conduct reviews and provide advice and guidance on the deployment of Information Systems to protect and control access to data controlled under the ITAR, EAR, or other export control regulations

  • Provide dedicated, ongoing support and design guidance for major digital initiatives, such as annual Enterprise Planning Projects

  • Support ongoing evaluation of the efficacy of controls, identifying gaps, ensuring remediation and continually improving metrics, as well as occasionally supporting investigations and disclosures

  • Partner with Digital Technology functional teams to provide necessary guidance, promoting ethical behavior to meet business expectations

  • Reviews and presents plans and progress reports to senior/executive leaders

  • Identifies and responds to program problems and leads solutions.

  • Support GT Director in the Avionics GT Program

  • US and international travel is required

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or granted refugee or asylee status) as defined here: https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-22/chapter-I/subchapter-M/part-120/subpart-C/section-120.62

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 16 years of relevant experience

  • Trade compliance knowledge and experience is required

  • US and international travel is required

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Program and project management skills and experience leading system Implementations

  • Experience working in an Aerospace, Engineering, or Digital Technology environment (program/technical)

  • Ability to work independently and communicate clearly with various levels of Collins Leadership

  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and step back to look at the big picture of what is needed for the department and investigate other opportunities through innovation to accomplish goals.

  • Experience with SAP/GTS and Smartsheet

The salary range for this role is 143,000 USD - 287,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
