Job Title: Plumbing Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Plumbing Technician with a minimum of 6 months' experience or familiarity with plumbing, electrical, or construction skilled labor. The ideal candidate should have mechanical aptitude and experience with soldering. You will assist journeyman licensed technicians in new installation piping, heating, and cooling units in residential, multi-family, and light industrial buildings. You will also assist with the delivery, installation, and troubleshooting of pipes and plumbing equipment, power vacuuming of pipes, cleaning up job sites, and lifting/moving units.

Responsibilities

  • Assist journeyman technicians with new installation piping and heating/cooling units in new construction residential, multi-family, and light industrial buildings.

  • Assist with delivery, installation, and troubleshooting of pipes and plumbing equipment.

  • Power vacuuming of pipes and cleaning up job sites.

  • Lift and move units as needed.

  • Utilize tools such as impact drills, sawzaws, wire strippers, lighted levels, screwdrivers, hammers, drywall saws, malco bits, bit adapters for impact drills, headlamps or flashlights, and channel locks.

Essential Skills

  • 6+ months' experience or familiarity with plumbing, electrical, or construction skilled labor.

  • Experience with soldering.

  • 1+ year plumber helper experience or mechanical/construction aptitude.

  • Able to use impact drivers and basic hand tools.

  • Valid driver's license.

  • Mechanical aptitude and mechanically inclined.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Ability to bend, crouch, kneel, and lift 100+ lbs as needed with team members.

  • Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, troubleshooting, repair, gauge, soldering, plumbing, construction installation, skilled trades, and blueprint reading.

  • Basic hand tools and the ability to purchase power tools as they progress in the role.

Work Environment

You will work in a team-oriented environment that is very busy. Once trained, you will be required to be on call every 6 weeks, with compensation for on-call shifts. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 7 AM to 5 PM, with the possibility of 60+ hours per week due to new projects. You will be paired with a journeyman and meet either at the job site or the shop address to start the day. The dress code includes jeans, work boots, and a work-appropriate t-shirt, which will be provided.
