General Function:

Oversee and manage capital projects aimed at enhancing plant safety, improving quality, increasing capacity, and reducing labor costs.

Reporting Relations:

Accountable and Reports to: Director, Supply Chain Analytics

Direct Reports: None

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage capital projects focused on plant safety, quality improvements, capacity enhancements, and labor reduction.

  • Develop project plans, budgets, and schedules to ensure timely and cost-effective project execution.

  • Serve as second tier support for maintenance of existing equipment if on-site maintenance teams are unable to resolve an issue.

  • Design, develop, and implement manufacturing processes and equipment.

  • Conduct feasibility studies and cost analyses for new processes and equipment.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure projects meet quality and performance standards.

  • Utilize project management tools and techniques to track project progress and performance.

  • Prepare and present project status reports to stakeholders. Identify and mitigate project risks and issues

  • Design and implement Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) systems for automated manufacturing processes.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve PLC-related issues to ensure seamless production operations.

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:

Ensure all projects comply with safety regulations and quality standards. Implement best practices to enhance safety and quality in manufacturing processes.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

  • 3-5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

  • Strong knowledge of PLC systems and project management principles.

  • Proven experience in managing capital projects with a focus on safety, quality, capacity, and labor reduction

Physical Requirements:

  • Visual requirements include the ability to see detail at near and far range with or without correction, normal depth perceptions.

  • Must be physically able to perform sedentary work: occasionally lifting or carrying objects of no more than 10 pounds, and occasionally standing or walking.

  • Must be able to perform the following physical activities: stooping, kneeling, reaching, handling, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.

Working Conditions:

The duties for this position are normally conducted in a combination of office and warehouse environments, including refrigerated and frozen environments. There is frequent pressure to meet deadlines and handle multiple priorities. There is exposure to noise from the warehouse. Must be available to travel between facilities as needed to support multiple manufacturing sites. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, with Word and Excel software, calculator, telephone, Fax machine, and copier.
