Job Title: Research Associate IIJob Description

Seeking a Research Associate II to lead our molecular processes team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing whole genome and next generation sequencing processes, ensuring continuity of molecular processes and reagent preparation. Responsibilities include collaborating with other team leads to manage sample volume and capacity, proposing and executing improvement plans, integrating and validating new equipment, analyzing data, and maintaining meticulous documentation following SOPs.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Ames, Iowa.

Work Environment

The role operates in a high-quality analytical soil lab, which can be dusty. The typical working hours are 8AM-5PM with a 1-hour lunch break. Weekend work is rare but may be required occasionally. The lab requires wearing PPE, including lab coat, safety glasses, gloves, and closed-toed leather shoes. Staff may listen to music with one earbud in. Physical requirements include the ability to lift 50 pounds and stand for extended periods. Dress code includes closed-toed shoes and long pants; clothes may get slightly dirty.
