Job Description:

The Iowa State University Book Store is looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Ecommerce and Logistics Coordinator to join our team. In this pivotal role, you'll manage various customer service channels, ensure seamless online order fulfillment, collaborate with the marketing team, and handle crucial logistical tasks related to inventory and shipping. Your responsibilities will also include assisting with the hiring and supervision of student staff, updating procedural manuals, and fostering professional relationships both within and outside the university community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Service: Operate the store’s call center (emails, case management, inbound calls), provide solutions, and offer personalized service.

  • Order Fulfillment: Process online and departmental orders, manage shipping software, and meet deadlines.

  • Database Management: Update customer databases.

  • Marketing Collaboration: Work with the marketing team on website content and evaluate consumer trends.

  • Budget Management: Prepare and manage departmental budget, evaluate space needs, and reduce overhead expenses.

  • Technical Troubleshooting: Handle issues with point-of-sale systems and shipping software.

  • Inventory Management: Assist with receiving, stocking, and physical inventory reconciliation.

  • Staff Management: Assist in hiring and supervising student staff and maintain procedure manuals.

  • Process Improvement: Proactively seek ways to improve processes and financial efficiencies.

  • Relationship Building: Communicate effectively with campus and community members.

    The Iowa State University Book Store is a retail operation, open 7 days per week during fall and spring semesters. During summer semester, ISU Book Store is open 6 days per week. Along with other full-time bookstore staff, this position will serve as weeknight closer and Supervisor on Duty on a rotating schedule, some weekends, additional hours are required during peak seasons and special events. Working hours may be adjusted for night and weekend requirements to support a healthy work-life balance.
